What happens after you've signed up to Good Energy?

Switching energy provider is simple, and we do most of the work for you! So whether you’ve just signed up to us or are thinking about it, here's a step-by-step guide about what we'll be doing, what documents you'll be receiving, and what we need you to do during the switch.

Step 1)

We'll post your welcome pack 3 - 5 days after you've signed up. This packs includes important information like your contract and terms and conditions.

You have a 14 day cooling off period following sign-up which gives you the chance to change your mind about switching your energy supply over to us. Just let us know if you'd like to cancel.

Step 2)

We’ll confirm the date we are due to take over your supply in a letter through the post, getting one step closer to making your energy cleaner and greener. 

Step 3)

Make sure you send us opening meter readings on the day (or up to five days before) your supply is due to switch to us. Don’t worry, we’ll send an email to remind you closer to the time.

It's important that we get this to ensure that you only pay for what you use. We're able to bill you more accurately if you send us regular meter readings.

Step 4)

That's it! Your switch to cleaner and greener energy is complete. We’ll email you to ask for your second meter reading a month after the switch date, so that we can send you an accurate statement. We’ll do this every month as a reminder, so that you’re always only paying for the energy that you’ve used.

What next?

Once you’ve switched over, you’ll be able to manage your account through the Good Energy app (Google Play and App store) or by logging into your account on our website. Here you can do all sorts of things like submit meter readings, manage multiple addresses and view your current balance and past statements, at a glance and in full.
