Our work to help transform the UK’s energy market, making it cleaner, greener and fairer, has been recognised by the London Stock Exchange, which has included us in its list of 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain.

This list is an annual celebration of some of the fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises in the UK.

As the UK’s first 100% renewable electricity company, we’ve grown steadily over the last seventeen years – building our customer base by offering households and businesses fair value, great service, and the chance to play their part in achieving a sustainable future.

1000 Companies to Inspire Britain

Unlike many other suppliers, we’re very careful about where we source our energy from – working with over 1,400 independent renewable generators around the UK who not only provide us with green power for our customers, but who also work in a way that reflects our own values.

100% Renewable Electricity since 1999

We’ve been providing our customers with 100% renewable electricity since our launch in 1999. After listening to what our customers wanted, in 2016 we also made our gas greener too.

6% of our gas now comes from biomethane, created here in the UK from food waste. To make our Green Gas completely carbon neutral, emissions from the rest of our gas are neutralised through hand-picked carbon-reduction projects in Malawi, Vietnam and Nepal.

Juliet Davenport, Good Energy’s CEO said, “It’s a fantastic achievement to have been recognised in this report. As a company, Good Energy believes in ‘doing the right thing’ and we always make sure that our customers, our planet and our future are at the heart of everything we do.”

Good Energy have been recognised for consistently great customer service, being awarded 4 out of 5 stars by Which? in 2017 (no supplier received 5 stars).

We’ve also invested more than £24.5 million in new renewable generation across the UK since 2015, as well as donating over £175,000 to communities who live close to our renewable sites.
